Has your Broker told you that in Collier County you should suggest that all home buyers have a code inspection?  Collier County and NABOR got together and came up with a format for these inspections.  The only problem is that the home inspection industry has resisted and only a few companies are performing this service.

According to NABOR it is strongly recommended that all Buyers and Sellers complete a General Pre-Purchase Home Inspection and Code Violation Inspection. This checklist does not replace the need for a General Pre-Purchase Inspection. This checklist is intended to assist Home Inspectors in identifying common code violations found in Collier County. It is not a guarantee or a warranty. This checklist does not include all possible

code violations.

The current property Owner is responsible for all violations on described property; however the potential Buyer would become responsible for all violations once the purchase transaction is complete. This checklist should be completed by a private Home Inspector and given to the potential property Buyer before the Sale of the described property.
